"To proclaim the favorable year of the Lord,
and the day of vengeance of Our God;
to comfort all who mourn,
to grant those who mourn in Zion,
giving them a garland instead of ashes,
the oil of gladness instead of mourning,
the mantle of praise instead of a spirit
of fainting.
So they will be called oaks of righteousness,
the planting of the Lord, that He may be
glorified."  Isaiah 60:2-3 (NAS)

I always thought of mourning as being just for a loved one, but I have
come to realize that it means much more.
I now realize that it can also pertain to a situation (s) in my life that cause
stress and frustration.
Perhaps a dream that died. If the dream was placed in my heart from God
then I know He will resurrect it.

Father,
Please resurrect the things in my life that You see fit, but kill off all that
will cause harm and not bring glory to Your name.
Continue to teach me Your ways that my faith will increase in strength.
In Jesus name.

Scripture:
"And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him." Luke 15:20  ESV
"For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found."
Luke 15:24  ESV

This verse shows us how  much God truly loves us and that nothing (no thing) will ever change that. There is nothing that we can do that will cause God to turn His back on us.

You may be backslidden or feel that you are a horrible person and you do not believe that God could ever forgive you. God does not hold grudges nor does He continually bring up things of the past. Jesus laid it all down at the cross for us and by His blood we have been redeemed.

There is a song sung by Phillips, Craig, and Dean and written by John Parenti and Benny Hester that speaks of the Prodigal Son. Below is just a small part from the lyrics:

When God Ran

"He ran to me. Took me in His arms, and held my head to His chest. Lifted my face and wiped the tears from my face and said son do you know I still love you?"

What phenominal lyrics!

God is not a respector of persons. We are new creations in Christ! All you need is faith to believe.

Prayer:
Father for all us when we tend to falter please pierce our hearts once again with Your truth and envelop us with Your unconditional love and grace.
In Jesus name,
Amen

"But He was pierced for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace
was upon Him,
and by His wounds we are healed."
Isaiah 53:5  (Also see 1 Peter 2:24)

When reading not only this passage, but all of Isaiah 53,
it showed me just how much Jesus truly loves us and
all that He went through for each and everyone of us.
The full extent of His suffering is impossible for us
to fathom.

We would like to think that we could do what He did,
but we would only be lying to ourselves.
When Yeshua, Jesus, was arrested what did the disciples
do? They took off. (Mark14:50)
What did Peter do? He denied Him three times. (Mark 14:72)
I doubt that we would be any different.

While I am going through this physical and trying condition (CEBV),
verse five reminds me that I am already healed and that I am just
waiting on the manifestation to take place. I know that this too will
pass.

No matter what I may be feeling in my body it amounts to nothing
compared to what our Lord had to endure.

There may be times when I feel like I cannot take anymore and it
is in those times that He gives me more grace.

Jesus did it all on Calvary and He did it for you and for me.

Father,
I thank You for Your reminder that You will see me through
this and any other thing that may come my way.
I am so grateful to have you in My life. You truly are a friend
that sticks to me closer then a brother.
In Jesus name,
Amen

Stressful Times: March 29, 2012

"If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth.
For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God."  Colossians 3:1-3

I have been going through alot of stress recently as I know so many others are.
A friend recently reminded me that I am not to focus on the things that are
around me which I admit has not been easy.
It is hard while you are within situations to try to maintain a healthy focus
on Christ and all He has done for me.
She told me that I should read Colossians 3:1-3 every night and make it
personal and though I have fallen short of actually putting it into practice
I did remember to read it this morning.
I am going to do my best at trying to remember that though I may live
in this world that I am not of this world.

Father, I ask that you help me and others to remember that You are truly
are source for all things. To cope we need You.
I am hidden with Christ in God. Amen.

"So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three: but the greatest of these is love."
1Corinthians 13:13 ESV

While at my mother-in-law's funeral I began to ponder on how she affected all the
lives around her. From the smallest of her great-grandchildren, to her grandchildren,
to her oldest child, friend or neighbor she always made everyone feel at home.

The word LEGACY popped into my mind and I then realized the legacy she left
with us all. There is absolutely no question about it. It was totally and undeniably
UNCONDITIONAL LOVE!!!!!

I can only pray that I will have such a legacy to pass on to all my loved ones.

Thanks mom for all you imparted to me.

Father, help us to cling to Your truth and abide in Your ways that we may also
leave such a blessed legacy. Amen.

Cast Your Cares on the Lord

"Cast your cares on the Lord
and He will sustain you;
he will never let the righteous
fall."  Psalm 55:22

In reading this scripture I realized that there are just too many times that
I forget this truth.
When a problem comes to the surface where do I run? I do not like not
being in control, so try as I will, it all ends up being in vain. I just end up
wallowing in fear and struggling to stay afloat rather then giving it to God.
I forget where my salvation lies.

Forgive me, O Lord, when I forget to run into Your arms in my times of need.
You are always here for me and all I have to do is reach out and call on your
name. In Jesus name. Amen

Matthew 10:26 (NIV)
"... There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known."

In reading Matthew 10:26 this morning I discovered that God sometimes, purposely, keeps us in the dark so that we will relinquish control to Him.
The unknown is frightening to us, but God will reveal what is hidden in His timing. The season of 'truth' will come to 'light'.
Whether it is in our individual lives, corporately, or governmental, the concealed will not stay hidden forever.
God has a way of bringing things to the surface just at the right time. We ourselves may not see it as being such, but His ways are not our ways and we are not to question why, but believe in faith that He has all under control.

Father, thank you for revealing to us those things that have been hidden and allowing us to once again see You at work in our lives and the lives others. In Jesus name, Amen.
